Cervix cancer prevention programme

Includes:

  • basic stage – material collection from the cervix for liquid-based cytology.
  • diagnostic stage – microscopic tests of material obtained from the cervix.
    The above stages are performed:
    • every 36 months for women aged 25 to 59 (when determining the age one should take into account the year of birth);
    • every 12 months for women aged 25 to 59 (when determining the age one should take into account the year of birth) with cancer risk (HIV, taking immunosuppressants, HPV – high risk type).
  • Increased diagnostics stage – colposcopy or colposcopy with targeted tissue collection and histopathological test.

The qualification criterion includes – a referral obtained in the basic stage of the programme.
