Cooperation with the European Healthcare Fraud and Corruption Network (EHFCN)---
The European Healthcare Fraud and Corruption Network (EHFCN) is a non-profit organization, governed by the law of Belgium on non-governmental organizations. The EHFCN has its seat in Brussels – it was registered in December, 2005 as a result of the agreement during the conference in London held in October 2004. Poland joined the network in 2006. The key source of financing of the EHFCN is membership fees. Currently the organization consists in 15 members from 12 European states.
The EHFCN is the only international European organization aiming at tackling the corruption, fraud and loesses in the healthcare sector and building anti-corruption culture, which would translate into better operation of the system and benefited all the patients.
The EHFCN supports its members in their efforts for preventing, identifying, prosecuting and punishing fraud and corruption in healthcare sector by, among others:
- exchanging information, experiences and best practices,
- aiming at establishment common operating standards,
- access to information materials,
- organizing conferences, trainings, seminars and social campaigns and presenting them at the international forum.
The EHFCN is governed by the chairman and its current operation by the managing director. The other EHFCN’s authorities are: General Assembly representing the organization members, specifying general directions of its activities, approving annual financial statement and budget and the Executive Committee acting as the governing body of the EHFCN and supervising its operation.
Working Groups responsible for operations in specific areas may be appointed, if applicable.
