Cooperation with the European Union---
The Ministry of Health carries out tasks arising from the Polish membership in the European Union. The representatives of the Ministry, both at the highest decision-making and expert levels, participate in the activities of the EU institutions, such as working parties of the Council of the European Union (Working Party on Public Health, Working Party on Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, and Working Party on Foodstuffs), the European Commission and the European Parliament. The goal of the Ministry is to prepare common positions as regards health policy presented in the EU, as well as to seek legal solutions most favourable to Poland. This is being accomplished in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other ministries, other central administration bodies as well as the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU. The Ministry is responsible for coordinating the adaptation of the health policy to the commitments resulting from our membership in the EU. Within cooperation with the EU, legal acts, strategies and programs on health care, prevention and combating diseases are adopted.
